Unlikely I know, but will we ever see a compilation video of 808 State's promos?

I've got Optical 90, but there were loads of brilliant videos made after that. I can only just remember the videos for Lift, Ooops, Voiceprint and Bond. Never saw the videos for Azura, Lopez, Timebomb, Primary Rhyming, etc. Fat chance we've got of MTV ever screening them again.

Did you consciously set out to write a song using melodic minor harmony?

I'm studying Music, Acoustics and Recording at Salford Uni and I've chosen to give a short "Style and Genre" presentation on Bjork and Army of Me. Our tutors currently seem intent on analysis of sociology expressed through music (we spent part of today's lecture discussing Soundgarden's use of a pedal bass being indicative of society while descending chords on top representing a freedom from society). This is clearly a load of bollocks. So I'm aiming to give a clear presentation.

If there is anything you could tell me about the musical direction you were taking at the time of Army of Me, I'd much appreciate it.

Cheers,

Stephen.
