Just curious, other than t-shirts and 'alleged' releases (red herrings), what other stuff is generally acceptable to talk about...do u have discussions on production on the 808 stuff, club culture, other artists that do interesting electronic or clubby type stuff, or the jazz kinda thing....just bought extended pleasure of dance ep today in my friend's record shop (i was about 9 when it came out!! think at that time i was listening to a mixture of bomb the bass, kylie minogue and rebel mc!! obviously all school-age stuff, still listen the bomb the bass tho', just as fresh = tim simenon...mmmmmmmmm), A lot of ppl rant on about how amazing logic is and how it's gonna revolutionise production, and i agree its a stunning piece of software and i've gone along with that philosophy for the time being... but hearing old tunes like anacodia - made years ago probably using an atari and an old-ish sampler (am i right?), it just backs up my original way of thinking that equipment is pretty irrelevent...imagination is everything. If that's how creative their production gets on old equipment in 1990, i'd like to hear what they come up with using the new powerful sequencers like Logic (although i'm not trying to put too much emphasis on the technology aspect u understand!) sorry if this is getting a bit tech-related. just thought it would be something different to talk about....
also - which was the LP with bernard butler? cubik? what year?
anyone bought the new(ish) 12" on nuphonic ladyvipb "tomorrow (something)..." (maurice fulton remix). it's pretty cool.
