Hi
I think 500 copies is a good guess. I have often heard stories about acts pressing up 500 whites and selling them to record stores themselves. Of course this was a more used method of self promotion before the internet came along.
I think Martin Price through Eastern had contact with pressing plants. So they scraped together and made up that 3 track EP and sold it at the Bloc. No label, no copyright holders, no registration, just pure fun.
I think Wax is a dead cool track. Being a typical hip-hop/sampler/loops track of that time (remember Cold-cut and The Jamms). I think it is a very Darren/Andrew/Tunes record. Funny that the next one thay made was a Massey/Price/Gerald record.
